First gathering at the cottage and some pics

I held my first gathering at the new house. So nice to have lots of room to entertain and for parking =) Jessica, Lisa and Andrea came over for treats and coffee. We exchanged Christmas presents too.

Andrea admiring the beautiful wrapping by Lisa.
 Lisa passing out her gifts.
 Pretty wrapping by Lisa.

Jessica received this sign from Andrea! hehe!
The sign I received from Andrea! LOVE it!
The frame I received from Lisa! Totally can. not. wait. to get a picture in there!
Jessica showing her gift from Lisa. Thanks for coming over girls! It was fun and hopefully the first of many gatherings!
Since the camera was out I took some pics of the house decorated for Christmas and with our furniture in it.
This fireplace is huge! My christmas tree is 6 1/2 feet tall. I am going to look for a 12 foot one at the after Christmas sales.
See how tiny the tree looks! haha!
I put Scott's tree on the sewing cabinet this year, his tree has all his airplane ornaments on it.

Lastly our dining room. The hubby did try to put up the new chandelier this weekend, but the ladder wasn't tall enough. So we will try again next weekend. Have a great week!

The monstrosity is down!

It took the hubby a couple hours Sunday morning... but it is down. Now I just need to put all that white chalky mess into a garbage can. We are going to reuse the 2x6's. Once I have cleaned up the mess, I can finally begin to bring my craft room supplies over from the other house. I am picturing pale blue walls in here with grey stained floors =) Can not wait!

Beginning to look like home...

Things are finally beginning to look like home... humph! It is alot of work! Plus trying to decorate for Christmas too!
I found a great pair of chairs and a sofa table on Craigslist and couldn't pass up the price of $200.00 total. I bought them for the hubby's den/loft.
We have already given away our first 2 dozen eggs and are almost ready with another dozen.
Ummm, ya the chairs and table didn't make it up to the loft. They found a home in the living room for now. Aren't they perfect?! I think so too. They were owned by an escrow company, so they are in great shape.
 LOVE those chairs! =)
The tree is decorated now, this picture was taken Monday... I will take some new pics tomorrow and post!
I did have one casualty... one of my big pasta bowls from Italy did not survive this move =( But I think my sis has a friend still there... *fingers crossed
The hubby and I are headed to the Outback for dinner, we have to drive to Burlington about 20 minutes south... but soooo worth it! I will post again tomorrow!
Ta Ta!

Meeting the girls!

I decided it was time for you to meet the girls... or Koko's new sisters! This is the inside of the chicken coop. It is a mess too.
 This is the greenhouse side.
So much to do this spring... but it's doable.
Anyone need some chicken wire? Actually, I am going to do a project for the kitchen with some of it.
We have been getting about 3 eggs a day.
Koko and I walk down every morning to feed and water the chickens and let them out to wander around the bigger pen.
Then we wander to the lower level of yard and walk the paths back up to the house.

Here they are! Aren't they pretty girls? They are Dutch... Bantam I believe.
I have put new shelf liner in ALL the cabinets in the house, and am slowly beginning to put things away.
I ran out of boxes to pack things into, so now it is time to unpack. Also trying to decorate for Christmas, I will try to be back tomorrow with some new pictures and post a little more regular again.

Guess I have alot to do... so better get moving!

What I've been doing...

Sorry I disappeared! We had some gorgeous days last week. Clear blue skies...
I took some time out of packing to make my hubby some chocolate covered cherries...
He can't wait the couple weeks for them to liquify...
He loves them from the time I finish them until they are gone.
I made the whole huge jar I bought from Costco, and have another jar left to do.
I've been letting him eat the "ugly ones" haha!
We went down to Fairhaven over the weekend for a prime rib dinner at one of our favorite places...
Then watched the lighted boat parade, my camera battery died before the boats got close enough. Oh well, we always enjoy the boat parade!
We finally received the keys to the house!!! I did not receive them until late Monday afternoon.
But WE GOT THEM! The house is ours!
Looking down the driveway... see the water? No? Look a little closer...
See it now? The best view of the water is from the driveway! Haha!
Craft cottage/clubhouse/party house etc...
The house was a mess... I kept being told they were cleaning and that is why it took so long to get the keys...
The hubby needs to tear this monstrosity down!
Well, when I did receive the keys, I went straight to the house, and the gardener was just taking the last load... so they just needed more time to get ALL their crap out!!! I wandered around the house till Scott got there...
Faux fireplace in craft cottage
I thought maybe I was over reacting... it was in BAD shape....
He says it won't be a problem...
Bad enough that even the hubby said, "we can't even unload anything in the garage without cleaning first...
single garage on other side of studio
So off to get cleaning supplies we went and began cleaning, and the hubby took the next day off work to help =).
Things are coming along, we have been cleaning, moving, etc... the movers are coming tomorrow to move the big furniture while the hubby is at work. So tomorrow will be our first night to spend the night. We have enjoyed the hottub almost every night already though!
My hands and body are sore from cleaning, moving, packing and unpacking, it will be nice when we get settled in. I did manage a trip to a couple furniture stores yesterday while Koko was getting groomed =)
Got some good ideas as to what I want for the media room, (they deliver!) will make some final decisions later in the weekend. I'll be back with some pics of the "girls" later this week!

House closed =D

We closed on the house yesterday at 4:30!
WOOHOO!
It is ALL OURS!
We will get the keys Sunday afternoon, hopefully. Then I can start moving boxes, painting, shopping, and making it ours!
Back tomorrow with some new pics!

Papers signed= Done!

We signed our portion of the papers LAST NIGHT! Yippeee!
We should still close on Friday, the owners will sign everything for this house and their new house on Friday. They have a moving truck coming Saturday morning at 9:00 am, we should do our walk through Sunday afternoon and receive the keys =D
Last night I ordered the new chandelier for the dining room.
I got the 2 closets in the hallway packed up, still working on the kitchen and bedroom...
I am meeting the girls for a lovely lunch date today, and an early din-din with Andrea to celebrate her contract for the Coast Guard being signed, so I probably won't accomplish much today.
