I thought I would post an update on the guest bathroom remodel. It is completely finished and I am in total LOVE with it! I bought the mirror at a local nursery, I waited 5 months before finally breaking down and purchasing it. It is perfect for this room. The "bathroom rules" sign came from Kohls and was on clearance. The towel hooks came from Lowes, the toilet paper holder came from TJ Maxx.

 The beadboard came from Lowes, the trim and baseboard came from a local wood shop. The shower fixture came from American Bath Factory. The marble basket weave tile came from The Builder Depot. The 8x12 marble tile came from Home Depot.

 The tub came from Vintage Tub. The white subway tile came from Lowes. The shower glass came from a local glass company.

 The cabinet came from a local cabinet company, the knobs came from Pick your Plum. The faucet came from Lowes, I think? The marble countertop came from a local granite and marble store.

 I reused the chandelier and mirror over the sink. The light fixture came from Lowes, until I can find one I like.

 Most of the accessories came from TJ Maxx, the birdhouse came from a shop in Oregon, the seashells were collected from various places including Mexico and home here in the Pacific Northwest.

 The driftwood frame was a clearance item at TJ Maxx that was broken without glass for $4.00. I hot glued it back together, added some drop cloth then glued on the starfish.

 The little table near the tub came from an antique store, the curtains I have had for years!

 The cottage picture came from a store near my sister in Utah, shelf came from Michaels, the mirror was made by my crafty sister in law, the seashell pictures came from TJ Maxx, the candle holder I made, the pumpkin I made, the bench I bought a few years ago at a vintage market. The towels came for TJ Maxx  and I would LOVE to find a few more of them.

The remodel went a little over budget, but we hadn't intended to buy a new tub. We hired a contractor to do the cabinet, beadboard, trim and oversee the project. We hired a plumber to do all the plumbing, unfortunately we wouldn't recommend him, he made a HUGE error in the shower. We didn't discover the mistake until it was too late =( We also hired someone to lay ALL that tile! He did an amazing job! Total cost $17,000.00. Gulp! It's beautiful though, and MY dream bathroom.

I have gotten as close to done as I can for a few days in the guest bath and didn't want to prolong the "reveal" any longer. The hubby is crazy busy the next few days and I have a few things I need him to help me with... otherwise, it's done!

So here we go! Lots and lots of pictures, which of course don't do it justice!

 The hubby spray painted the toilet lever oil rubbed bronze since I wasn't able to find one locally.

 While he was at it he spay painted the hinges on the door too =). (When we moved into the house 18 months ago we changed out all the door hardware throughout the entire house to oil rubbed bronze.)

 I'm not sure if the chair will stay, I am liking it for now though. A couple shelves and some hooks still need to be installed on this wall.

Oops! See the box in the lower left corner? New toilet seat waiting to be installed.

 The marble floor is so smooth to walk on, I love it! Wishing I could put it in the master too ;)

 I reused the mirror I had, just spray painted it for now until I can find a larger one.

 This was the inspiration for the bathroom... I think I did pretty well. I wanted the colors of sea glass and a marble counter and floor.

 The hubby needs to install the drawer knobs, I have 2 different sets! I couldn't decide which ones I liked better!

 So pretty! Love, love love it!

 Not so pretty, ha! A few things to put away and hang, but it will get there.

 The guest bath is almost done. I just have a few last minute touches before I show the whole thing completed.

But here are a few little peeks to tide you over til then ;) I am in LOVE with it with for sure!

 Other things that have been happening here are: Relay for Life was last weekend. I put together a cooking basket to be raffled off.

 I made a few emergency kits (survival kits) for my to relay buddies ;)

They were filled with fun little goodies that I wish I had the first year I spent the entire night.

 I made a couple chalkboards from my old laundry room cupboards to be raffled off.

 Our booth this year turned out pretty cute.

Our house is getting new stain and paint this week! The deck too!

And, now that the bathroom is finally almost done, I am moving on to the Garden guest bedroom.

 We spent Fathers Day in Leavenworth Washington. Such a beautiful place! We met up with the hubby's mom and step dad. It was so much fun to shop and visit with them.

 When we returned the contractor had been doing some work in the guest bathroom while we were gone. He finished putting up the beadboard and trim! Woohoo! The plumber had installed the tub and faucet... LOVE!

 Uh, what the heck?!? I was almost in tears... I guess the contractor ran in to a little problem and rather than call us, he decided to fix it himself. Luckily my hubby knows me well and knew how disappointed, mad, upset I was, so he made the contractor come back that afternoon and fix it!

 Here's the problem area. He failed to notice that the drawer would not open with the taller base molding we had him install all around the bottom of the room. So he figured he would just rip it down so it was shorter on that wall and have it meet up behind the toilet... he said no one would notice. The difference in height is almost 2 inches! NOT acceptable in my book. Not when I've spent so much money to have this room be exactly what I wanted. (I still cannot figure out why he wouldn't have called us to give us a heads up that there was a problem, so we could find a solution instead of us walking into this disaster.)

 So we had him rip all the base molding down to the same height. It took him the rest of the afternoon and the next morning, he wasn't happy.

So much better =) The contractor is done with his portion of the room, the hubby and I are going to finish the rest of the work ourselves. It may take a few more weeks before it is done, but it will be done the way we want.
