Oopsies! Been a while!

Sorry it's been a while since I posted! Don't know where the time went!
I've been in a bit of a funk since my sweet friend Andrea left for the Coast Guard. Last week we made a quick lunch trip to LaConnor.
It was a great day to be in LaConnor... what am I saying? ANYDAY is a great day to be in LaConnor! Haha!
Unfortunately, our favorite store was closed! The purse store, but we did walk through the kitchen store and the antique store. I am gonna miss that girl. She flew out Tuesday and won't be in contact for a couple weeks. I have been trying to keep myself busy between this house and the other.
In other news... an update on the carpet situation. This is the old carpet in the living room.
This is the old carpet in the "Beach" guest bedroom. You can see why this carpet needed to be changed, YUK!
The hubby and I moved all the furniture from the living room the night before.

This is the new carpet!!! YAY! I LOVE it! It is sooo soft on my bare feet.
I love the color, we went with the same color in both rooms.
I got the room primed and the base boards painted before they installed the carpet.
Then the hubby and I put all the furniture back that evening.
I love the softness soo much I am thinking of having it installed in the master bedroom too!
I have been painting the Beach guest room to get it ready for my bestie, Kari. She will be here Saturday! YAY! Can not wait! Coffee, conversation, drinks, spa treatments and hopefully a little shopping =)
Picked up this light fixture for the room. I am painting the room a pale blue called New Day. I love it. For now the antique furniture will go in there. The hubby and I found a beautiful bedroom set, but it was too big for the room!!! I know, who would have thought with the huge room we have that a bed would be too big?!? But we measured and tried to make it work, and it won't so our hunt continues.
I have been exercising everyday for an hour, so because the sun is peeking out today Koko and I are going for a walk!
Have a sunny day!

Beach guest bedroom beginnings and organizations dreams.

Yesterday I finally began priming the walls in the Beach guest room. They are installing the new carpet tomorrow, YAY!
The hubby needs to change out all the electrical outlets and switches in the room.
The previous owner just painted over all of them, and the covers! Who does that?!
I caulked all the nail holes in the molding and will begin the long process of painting ALL the trim in the house, beginning with this room and the living room. New carpet is being installed in the living room as well!
The light fixture will be changed out... I am in love with this one below from CSN stores!
Stalton Pendant in Oil Rubbed Bronze
The furniture in our master bedroom will be used in this room, so I am searching for new master bedroom furniture.
While I am painting, my mind keeps moving forward! Haha!

I have been thinking alot about organizing... in tubs... with labels.
I have mentioned this little door before in the den/loft area. Well through that door...
Is this! A huge storage area over the garage!
 With shelves already built in!
On both sides!!! I am really anxious to get the studio together. The first step is to organize all my holiday stuff. They are all in HUGE totes, but they are falling apart so most of them need to be replaced. So that will be the next project.
Since I stole the lamps from my bedroom to use in the garden guest room, I needed to find new ones. Look at these beauties! It was LOVE at first site I tell ya! Not sure if I can part with them for the beach guest room, so I may have to find some new ones when this furniture gets put in the new room.

Garden guest bedroom part two.

The garden guest room is almost done! I snapped a few pictures when I was waiting for the mattress to be delivered.
I decided to use the white wicker table I already had, and the lamps from my bedroom. Also the rug the previous owners left for us.
I haven't decided if this lamp that I already have will stay or not, I am thinking it needs to be taller.
Here is the room with the mattress delivered. Don't worry, I am going to use my white down comforter on the bed when our new bed gets delivered, but for now the quilt works. It just looks a little to much like grandmas house! And while I am going to be a grandma, I don't want my house to look like it quite yet! I bought the trunk at the foot of the bed a couple years ago, it will store an extra blanket or two. For my mom an electric throw ;)
I still need to hang some curtains and hang the pictures, but it is coming along!
You may be wondering why I put the chair here... inside the closet area. Well, for now there really isn't a closet, remember the old owners used this room as a dining room. Also because when you sit there, you can see the courtyard with the birds and the squirrels. Koko and I have already enjoyed sitting there. I hope to be able to sit there and read, when I don't have any guests anyway! I am looking for a foot stool, a pillow and a throw.
I think it is ready enough for my first guest... who will it be???
This is the view from the bed.
Look what is in the grocery stores! Spring is coming! Can. Not. Wait!

A few more rooms.

I realized yesterday when I read back through my blog that I haven't posted any pictures of some of the other rooms with our furniture in them. So here are a few pics... this is the master bedroom. You can see why we are going to use this furniture in the beach guest room, too small for the space!
I went with olive green accents in here for now to give the room some color, it is so brown, and because the master bath is painted olive green with glitter in the paint!
I can't wait to get the new black oversized furniture in here!
When they come to lay the new carpet for the bedroom and living room next week they will re-stretch this carpet.
I haven't decided what theme we will use, but for now the sailboat is in here.
I am hoping the cabinet I am buying is big enough to put the TV inside, otherwise I guess it will be mounted on the wall... UGH!
The hubby got the backsplash up on the counters in the garage.
He just needs to finish some painting and hang the blind in the window.
He is really enjoying having a work space again, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for some cool projects from him in the next few months!
My sister gave me a great idea when we were talking on the phone... she was thinking that the pictures of the garage were of my studio... when I corrected her that it was the garage not the studio it made me realize I could put a temporary craft area on my side of the garage! So this morning I have already finished (finally) clearing out the craft area at the old house! The hubby is out of town for the weekend, so we will see how much I can get done before he returns=)
The new lights on the garage look fantastic!
We just have one more to get... the front door! (I had to steal the one I bought for there to go on the garage)
This is the media room... still need a few tables and a couple chairs and lamps.
The hubby is helping me with his ideas for this room and his office/den. So the furniture shopping is slow going, NO antiques or thrift store furniture.
I do have the treat basket stocked though... and hope to get a small fridge and microwave next trip to Walmart/Kmart/Target.
His office/loft area is coming along too! I managed to get ALL is planes dispayed! We are looking at a chaise and a couple chairs for this room, the desk the old owners left here will go in the studio.
I am still working on getting him to purge some things... do we really need catalogs from the 1980's and 90's???
It is so great to see all his things out finally! Some of them have been in boxes for 16 years!
I think the table I put together for him looks pretty good!
There you have it... a lookie at a few more rooms in the cottage.
Since the hubby is gone, I am going to try to finish the garden guest room, clean the other house and paint the beach guest room and the family room at the old house! Fingers crossed I finish it all! He has Monday off so we can do fun stuff!
